The following is old news but noteworthy for newcomers to this site. So we'll leave it as a primer. Stuff like this is what eventually led to getting rid of the "Black Hats" and a change in the "Points" form of Government.

Summary page does not detail what one could consider a rip-off of taxpayers/residents/voters of Sewall's Point by requiring permits that State statue does not. We will detail later.

The building department led by B.O. Gene Simmons  has required "Permits" totaling $ 98,8666.10 . As we read the summary page, the last of 4, it appears that in two months, January & February that more than one half of the projected annual revenue for the building dept. has been reached.

Seems that the B.O. Simmons well on his way to recovering the $ 8,000.00 raise he was granted by the Commissioners at the behest of Commissioner Morris who we feel wasn't / isn't aware of "all" the issues surrounding the B.O. in particular his re-write of the FEMA MODEL "on his own", that has cost 2 families their homes in the "Point" and almost a third, were it not for the due diligence of a neighbor/contractor who along with the homeowner put together the package that Commissioner Morris mistakenly gave credit to the B.O. Simmons not realizing that the homeowner & builder/neighbor put the presentation package together NOT THE B.O. Simmons. Of course Simmons did not correct the record. Commissioner Morris's commendation was followed a couple of weeks later by his motion to give B.O. Simmons an $ 8000.00 raise despite lots of complaints as noted by Building Commissioner Pam Busha;" I know we have had lots of complaint's, oops I shouldn't have said that". Yes commissioner Busha you were right in speaking the truth.  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To bad Comm. Morris was not aware of the fact of the matter regarding  the previous issue.

As a writer to the website has noted, "the truth requires no signature, for it stands on its own legs".

YTD permits issued 375 ? 374 in january? Missing something. Must be carry over from 05.

 We have been advised that several permit requirements by this town are not required by thew State examples to follow.  sample: requiring a permit to overlay tiles, pavers, any type of facing on a pool apron or deck that is already finished in another medium, i.e., "cool deck" , Chattahoochee and/or plain old, troweled mortar/cement, brick? ABSURD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
